Take a tour of Serifos...

On your first day, take a trip around the island and end your tour in Chora. The picturesque village on top of the mountain invites you for a coffee or a drink.
No matter if you visit for the first time or have or been here many times, each time feels like coming home… Seeing the locals, the beautiful Aegean sea, the beaches, the rocks, the countless churches, the island’s wild nature, the animals… it feels so familiar and each has a personality of its own. The island embraces you with its sweet roughness and its Cyclades characteristics. At sunset, dramatic colors turn the mountains majestically black and the sky above into a palette of orange, pink, red and purple... it is simply mesmerizing to watch.
The best spot to see the sun setting is the high mountain range opposite Chora. Or watch the sun sinking into the sea over the pastel color palette at Serifos’ west coast.

Have a look at the countless beautiful churches and chapels. Remarkable are the oldest churches Agios Stefanos (in Varsamo) and Agios Georgios (in Pounti, near the harbor).
The two monasteries, Taxiarchis and the Panagia Evangelistrias Akrotirianis, are warmly welcoming visitors all year around (dress decent please).

There are many ways to get around the island. Take your car, motorbike or a bicycle or the bus. During the summer, buses carry out frequent routes towards the most popular spots of the island. Livadi and Chora are connected, as well various beautiful beaches.
Timetables are posted at the bus stops of Livadi and Ano Chora and you can buy a ticket from the driver, once you get on the bus (bring some coins for the tickets).
Serifos has many hiking trails, the most popular ones are from Livadi (harbor) to Chora and from Chora to Kallitsos. Not many years ago this network of trails was the only way to get around (to school or to work) before roads were built.

The amazing beauty of Serifos is different at any season. At any time of the day, but especially the stunning sunrises, sunsets and starry nights! Enjoy exploring this jewel of the Cyclades!
